YAD ELIE began raising awareness by writing articles in Jewish journals,
letters to friends and organizations, talks to groups, and personal conversations.
The response was warm, and contributions began to flow in.
There have been generous donations from Holland. The Dutch Chapter
of the International Council of Jewish Women has been a staunch
supporter until this day.Friends in England, France, the United States,
and Israel have given their support as well.
The first major event to raise funds for YAD ELIE was a benefit concert at the Bible Lands Museum in Jerusalem in October, 2003. Two well-known performers, pianist Zacharia Plavin and TV personality Emmanuel Halperin donated their services. Artistically and financially, this concert was a great success.
A second benefit concert was given in February, 2004 by two special artists, Dutch-American cantor Josee Wolff and American pianist Joyce Rosenzweig. The event was hosted by Jerusalem's Kehillat Yedidya Congregation.
A third benefit concert was given again at the Bible Lands Museum by three outstanding artists:
- Pianist Gloria Davalos-Shazar
- Guitarist Dani Akiva
- Narrator/Publicist Avner Perez
